In Ireland, is it legal to rip DVDs that I own to my computer?

In Ireland (and please, I only need information relevant to Ireland), is it legal to rip DVDs that are my property to my own computer? If it is not, is there a fine, prison sentence (yes, I am sometimes a bit melodramatic) etc?
