How many bible thumpers can actually explain.......?

The Bible contains many genres of writing, including history, laws, love stories, songs, wisdom sayings, letters, and, and,.... One of the genres is myth, which in theological terms means a story that contains truth, but may not be truth in and of itself. A parable is similar. There probably was no actual Good Samaritan, but it is an excellent teaching story. Genesis has a lot of myth in it. It speaks of the relationship between us and God, our creation, and all of that. However, the details might not be entirely historically accurate. But, they are not intended to be.
